Alliance for Learning

AGGS DramaDrama is a practical subject taught twice a cycle in Years 7, 8 and 9. Lessons cover a range of topics from theatrical styles, exploring professional practitioners, to themes and texts, including Shakespeare. There is also a Drama Club for all three years, supported by senior students.

Drama is a GCSE option and AQA Drama and Theatre Studies is also taught at A Level.

There are lots of opportunities for performance both through drama clubs and by getting involved in the annual Year 10 scripted performance. We offer an upper school production in the autumn term and in Year 9 we have a drama club which results in a performance in the summer term, usually of a shorter Shakespeare.

Extra Curricular

AGGS DramaThroughout the year, girls are given the opportunity to attend many live theatre performances.

Drama clubs are provided for years 7, 8 and 9, with the year 9 Drama Club beginning to provide pupils with the skills required for GCSE and is a popular extra-curricular activity.
